Your Questions, Answered with Care

  • Established in 2015, Nourishing NH is a weight-inclusive private practice in New Hampshire that specializes in treating eating disorders and disordered eating. We provide trauma-informed care to individuals in all body sizes, focusing on healing relationships with food without promoting weight loss.

Nourishing NH is owned by Hope Hayes, a certified eating disorder registered dietitian-nutritionist, IAEDP-approved supervisor, and nutrition therapist.

  • "Health At Every Size" (HAES) is a framework that promotes respect for body diversity and emphasizes health behaviors over weight loss. We believe health is defined differently for each person and strive to support your unique health journey.

  • Nourishing NH follows a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach. We do not prescribe weight loss and do not believe that weight is an indicator of health. Instead, we support people in identifying their unique health goals and focus on the relationship they have with food and their body. We use Medical Nutrition Therapy in supporting our clients' nutrition concerns.

  • Nourishing NH follows trauma-informed principles, including clear communication, predictability, consistency, autonomy, cultural awareness, trustworthiness, and integrity. These principles guide our care to create a safe and supportive environment.

  • "Nutritionist” isn’t a regulated term - meaning pretty much anyone can use it. Our clinicians are registered dietitian nutritionists, and we sometimes use the term "nutritionists" for those who are unsure of the difference. All of our dietitian nutritionists have all completed a degree, an internship and are board certified in order to provide you with the best care possible.

  • Of course you can! Please use the contact us inquiry page and just let Danielle, our clinical coordinator know.

  • During a session, we may explore your relationship with food, body image, and possibly relationship with exercise. Using medical nutrition therapy, we support folks in identifying meaningful ways to improve their health and nutrition.

  • NNH accepts Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim, United Health Care, Aetna, Health Plans Inc and Cigna commercial insurances.
